To Live Out Loud

TO LIVE OUT LOUD

“If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, I will answer you: I am here to live out loud!” - Émile Zola

Filmed over one year, this short documentary follows a grandmother recovering from heroin addiction, a young man who dreams of becoming a writer, and an aspiring animator brought together by a free video arts program for the homeless in Portland, Oregon. As they learn to express themselves through personal projects, the three struggle to put their pasts behind them and re-create themselves as artists.
